Costs of Health Care
Dramatically rising health care costs have led to declines in small employer coverage, with a large part passed on to employees. Expected future demographic trends of a growing proportion of residents who are low-income, uninsured and without access to employer-based coverage indicate that financial pressures upon L.A. County Department of Health Services, public health insurance coverage programs and the entire delivery system are likely to continue to increase.
