Description:
Memorandum from the L.A. County CEO to the Board of Supervisors that includes a report on actions taken by the Assembly Budget Subcommittee No. 1 on Health and Human Services related to the Governor's FY 2010-2011 proposed budget, which includes rejecting Medi-Cal eligibility reductions, restoring continuous 12-month Medi-Cal eligibility for children and shifting funds from the Safety Net Care Pool (SNCP), which would result in a local loss of $14.4 million to SNCP and $10.0 million to the South Los Angeles Preservation Fund. In addition, an update is provided on AB 2477 (Jones), which would reinstate continuous Medi-Cal eligibility for children up to 19 years of age to ensure that California qualifies for the temporary Federal Medicaid Assistance Percentage (FMAP) rate increase through the extension of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.
